Hahaha. Funny stuff, Kotsy. Maxime Talbot is a player I wouldn't mind on the Rangers.

I'm happy the Pens won. As bad as I feel saying that. Don't like the Wings and their style of play just a little bit more.

All in all though, this Cup was like having to choose between the Cowboys and the Steelers in the Super Bowl for us 49er fans! Just ROTTEN.

Now we get can all the semi-pitt love out of our system... LET'S GO RANGERS!

5.20 AM here so I will be brief:

Poor Marian...

HA HA

...

Very nice game otherwise.

Wrath, I just thought keep it simple and what else can you say. Maxime Talbot is now a instant legend in Pittsburgh Penguin Stanley Cup folklore!

Jeff, I am happy with the result and Maxime Talbot or Marion Hossa who would you want?

Now we wait to see what our beloved Rangers can do over the off season to build a winner.

First- LETS GO PENS! OMG. We knew it could be done. It happened. WOOT!

Second- Jeff, did you really just feel bad for Hossa? REALLY? I'm sure his +$7M deal for the year will keep him occupied in the off season

Third- LETS GO PENS. OMG. Still has excited as I was at 9:53 of the 2nd period when Talbot put away the game winner. As Mike Lang said, it was the goal for all the marbles.

I can't even believe I'm still sober enough to comment on this blog... but yea... GO PENS! I think I'm going to have to make an appearance on the radio show pretty soon. BRINGING IT HOME TO PITTSBURGH! WOOT!

Krista Lynn, You were on the band wagon all along so give your self a pat on the back.

Talbot's the man in Pitt and a instant legend.

I also predicted 2 weeks ago on "Ice Breakers" Pitt in 7 it's on the record.

Oh Yea F- -K Hossa LOL.

Well I certainly called this one didn't I....reported straight from NHL.com...

'Sidney Crosby is now a champion. Sidney Crosby is now officially great.' Apparently greatness requires scoring only once in 7 game series...way to go...if scoring once in a series is greatness than Talbot must be the equivalent a donkey ride to Mecca....

But in all seriousness...this was a great game if you can ignore the inconsistency in calls once again...if someone could explain to me how players can get elbowed in the face and hit well after the whistle blows with no call yet Staal gets called for hooking on what can only be called a gentle brush against another player, I for one would be amazed...

I'm waiting and excited for the season next year but at the same time I'm not looking forward to another year of crappy officiating..

Kotsy's Korner said...

Saul, I can't blame you. I'm on board with you on this. What did Staal do? Pass wind? LOL. The officiating has got to be looked at over the off season.

The, Hardcore, Knowledgeable, and Dedicated fans are getting more and more disillusioned with this crap.

As for Crosby, I don't quite see it the way you do totally. I know Crosby can be a whiner and a spoiled brat, but really who isn't today.

Again I go back to who are you going to sell as the face of Hockey? A player who can communicate to the media or not?

The other options are really laughable.

Well Pens won it..congrats to them. Lets see what the Rangers will do in the summer...will be a long summer for me Chris..ughhh..keep up the awsome work...and i will have Ashley back soon for next year

Kotsy's Korner said...

Leatherneck, It will be a long summer for me as well. I don't like baseball.... The Rangers had better get with it and give us hope.

Hang in there my man, for what other choice is there?

I've already voiced my displeasure to you before about how much I don't like the Wings style of play. So, when all is said and done, I'm happy the Pens beat them (as I know you are). Another great season in the books. I'm already looking forward to next year. Hope you keep the blog going Kotsy - one of the better hockey blogs around!

Puck Central, I will keep "Blogging" the best I can through the off season.

My only hope the Rangers can get it going in the right direction soon.

Thanks for the comments and I will keep an eye out for yours as well.

Yes it was a great game and the place where I saw it went berserk over the game and it was good to see Hockey followed so enthusiastically in NYC by non-Ranger fans.

But now for myself the battle lines are drawn ! It New York Ranger Hockey First and Foremost, anybody who isn't with me is against me. Prepare for War !

I really should lay off the caffeine before I post. But screw it, no more good will to other teams I want another Cup parade in NYC.

Let's Go Rangers !

Mouth, I'm glad you enjoyed the get together with other "Fans".

Now it's time to get back to what's on our minds and that would be the Rangers and their future.

Oh yeah loved the dvd's.

Hey kotsy,
Yeah that was a great game. Even though I'm not a Pittsburgh fan, i am sort of happy that detroit lost. I didn't want the same team to win twice in a row.

PS: Thank you for talking with me and my brother yesterday about hockey. I really enjoyed it.

Kotsy's Korner said...

Frankie, No problem at all. It was nice to talk to you and your brother as well. It was interesting to talk the sport of Hockey with you.

Stay in touch.

Leatherneck said...

hey there Chris..gonna be a long summer in many ways my brother from another mother...No Ashley..no Rangers..tough on my life..hopefully the foundation of both these items will get stronger over the summer...eh..i am sure it will...lets get kommiserek..and heatly

Kotsy's Korner said...

Leatherneck, I'd love to get Heatly and Kommiserek. I don't think the Rangers can afford them though.

You just got to hang in there and things will work it self out.

I am still trying to come to grips with what I saw Friday. The Pens did look like a better team, but the officiating was again suspect. Is there an explanation as to why there was no icing on the Pens' first goal?

The League certainly got what it wanted. Regardless, it is always exciting to see a young and hungry team make it all the way. I just hope that Sid and co. are sufficiently mature not to let this go to their heads and start feeling like they are entitled. It is certainly easy to fall into that trap, considering how the NHL has been swooning over the Penguins for the last few years.

I wonder how the NHL will conduct its business in the years to come, from its relationship with the franchises (see Phoenix) to the drug testing policies. It almost seems like Bettman wants to orchestrate as much as possible to create as much drama as possible. While I understand that from a business perspective, as a fan, I hope we do not slide into the realm of WWF-type reality. Speaking of officiating, do you think the pre-lockout style is coming back next year because of what you saw in the finals or do you think things will be reset to the beginning of last year? Either way, I hope we are not in a situation where it is different in every game.

Now, to the subject of the Rangers. I think they need to catch lightning in a bottle somehow, because otherwise, I cannot see them getting a sniff at the cup in the foreseeable future with the cigar man at the helm.

Kotsy's Korner said...

Jason, I'm pretty sure the league will never give explanations for the blatant errors that occurred through out the playoffs. Not in their nature to admit any wrongs.

As for the pre-lockout style I could only wish that would happen. That would mean once again the NHL was wrong and I don't see them admitting that.

Jason, The rule changes have in my mind created actors in the NHL. No team is immune from this. Until they allow the players to police themselves again it will continue.

The Penguins did a remarkable job in dethroning the the Red Wings. Will It go to their heads only time will tell. Give them credit!

Rangers..... It is going to be a very interesting summer. I think Slats has something up his sleeve. Status Quo will not cut it .
